2017 BMW X1 AWD - 36/15k $366/mo

I’m looking at a 2017 X1 AWD loaner car with 4700 miles. 36mo/15k
msrp $46,620
sell $35,800
Miles 4,700 (that’ll add $1,175 to the residual at .25/mile)
residual 58% (3yr, 15k)
mf .00151
rebate 1,000

I’ve negotiated the selling price, now to flip it to a lease. I want to make sure that my math is correct.
Considering the parameters above and not adding anything for tag, dealer, or disposition. I live in a tax on payment state, 6.5%. I’m coming up with $366/mo including tax. Is that correct?

How successful do you think I could I be at having the disposition waved and axing the dealer fee?

Could I get into either a Merc GLA or GLC AWD for that price point?

.

Is it a good negotiating tactic to get a selling price prior to telling the dealer if it is a lease or a buy?

You deduct (NOT add) (4,700-500)*$0.25 from the residual of 58% * MSRP

Thanks for your help. But in your math, you charged sales tax on the full purchase price. Considering that I live in a state that charges sales tax on the payment, not the full purchase price, doesn’t that change the figures dramatically?

I’m fairly new at leasing. Based upon the reading that I have done, yes, it is best to negotiate a strong purchase price before discussing the lease.

It does. You’d be at 363 plus tax

Cool spreadsheet, did you build it?

Yes. Thanks! …20
