After browsing this forum for a while, I just got my first lease ever. Used the deal coss1600 as negotiation. Also went to Expressway. It took a lot of negotiation but just as I was walking out the door they gave me this deal. I’m ok with the deal, I just felt like I could’ve did better. How did I do?
2016 rav4 xle hybrid (msrp was 29,585). 36/12k. Monthly payment of 265/month which includes tax. Paid drive off of $765 (which includes first months).
I declined the gap insurance which wouldve added another $23/mo. I thought I could get it through my insurance but now I just discovered they don’t offer it. I know how gap works but how important is it to have this on a lease?
Gap is important and it is mandatory to have it in our State. Not sure why yours is so different. It is part of lease acquisition fee.
Congrats you did a great job.
Can you afford to pay a few grand out of pocket if you happen to total the car? If yes, then it’s not that important. If no, then you will probably want to get it.
Michael, if you know, I just never saw that question answered here.
Can or do they sell to someone out of state? If its not in the middle of the winter I wouldn’t mind driving or paying delivery for a really good deal.
Don’t worry about it, you will drive yourself crazy looking for the lowest deal. There are too many factors and variables. We got the car four months ago, so I assume the residual had come down by about 1%. Also we are basically at the same payment once you take out the tax, I essentially got a car with more options (I am thinking you don’t have NAV) and i didn’t have to pay the $765 at signing. It could just be I bought it at the end of May.
I wasted 2 hours of my time at Boch South. They lost the same deal over $750 on a trade.
