I will preface this with I am new to the forum and have only lurked for 6 months or so, but that residual value hurts, have you compared it to other vans?
Thanks for the comment.
I am also new to the forum and it’s only been 4 months, so still an amateur
I have looked into other vans but with the limited version everything else was above 400.
OP, investigate Uber discount for this vehicle. It may be $1k or $2k on 2016 model. Also, not sure about availability of other trims, but there is a $3500 jump in trims from the SX to the SXL, all for some different wheels and some first class airplane seats. The SX might offer everything you need at a lower price point. Lastly, there is substantial lease cash on 2017 models as well (not 7500, but close depending upon trim) plus higher residuals. The numbers may work out equally on a 2017 model.
2017 RV wasnt that much better. I think it was 2% more for 2017.
Dealer discount wasnt good on 2017 models.
wrt uber discount, 3 dealers that I spoke to all said that there is 2000 discount but it’s only for purchase and it doesn’t apply for 2016 lease.
With the high lease cash that Kia is offering on some models, how is that handled when negotiating? Do you get to a price and then the lease cash is applied on top of that? In the example above with the Sedona, the buyer negotiated $6740 off the MSRP. Is the Lease cash then applied to the sales price?
That is BS on the UBER. I got 1K off on my 2016 Hyundai Genesis LEASE with uber. Also does Kia support BOOSTUP? If so you should be able to stack that also (put 500 down and they match it up to $500.
WIth the 2k Uber and BoostUP this should be a good sub 300 lease…
I closed the deal yesterday with the OP number. 7500 lease cash is additional discount. So the total discount is $6740 + $7500. The dealer actually did not disclose that the registration was extra since I was buying in NV and driving back to CA and registering by myself in CA.
So I asked for the additional discount to cover the registration fee in CA.
Dealer gave additional $400 discount.
Kia doesn’t support BOOSTUP.
I checked multiple times with 3 dealers, but all of them were consistent with the answer.
It was very unfortunate since extra $2000 would have been around $60 off per month.
I looked online and it doesn’t seem to be that clear. The real determinate is below from the website
“Compliance with Sales Policy. In order to qualify for this Incentive, the sale must be an “Eligible
Sale” as defined in Section 1.3 of the Sales Policy and Dealer must otherwise have complied with
all other requirements of the Sales Policy with respect to such sale.”
Seems like the sales policy doc is not public. I just fiend it strange that hyundai would allow it to be used on a lease and Kia would not?
Airline seats are super nice. My wife didn’t like getting a minivan at all, but she changed her mind after tring out the reclining seats with leg raise.
