2016 Kia Optima EX vs 2017 Optima EX

Just wondering if you guys could give some input on these quotes. I’m getting two quotes here, first car is 2016, and second is 2017. The 2016 has what the dealer says is the “tech package”, which looks like he means is the premium package, and the 2017 is base.

are these good deals?

Those prices are actually pretty reasonable. You’re under the 1% rule. I’ve been trying to replicate the SXL deal someone else posted without much luck. If I were in your shoes I’d go for the SX over the EX if only for the 2.0L turbo engine. That’s just me though.

You should also have another $500 rebate available. If you build it on Kia’s website and then put in your zip code under “Find near matches close to” it will give you a list of ones available in your area. Click on “Calculate payment” on any of them and it should give you the lease offers available in your area.

What area you looking in?

I’m trying to get a cheap lease, with somewhat decent options, that’s why I chose EX over the other ones. But still that SXL for $195 is the best I’ve seen. I don’t even want a Kia, but the price is pretty appealing.

I’ve been trying to replicate that $195/month deal though, but it’s pretty much impossible. That guy must be one smooth talker.

And thanks for the heads up on the additional $500 on the lease offer. I wonder if they’re just trying to save that for themselves

Just keep in mind on competitive lease offers down the road Kia is excluded from pretty much every other manufacturer incentive for what reason I do not know. Even hyundai excluded them, which I thought was a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.

Don’t know about all other brands, but Kia qualified for Chevy’s $3000 Asian Conquest rebate last month.

And it qualifies for this month’s $1,500 conquest from Chevy.

And Hyundai and Kia are owned by the same company, why would they want to cannibalize their own sales? It’s the same reason Chevy rebates exclude all GM brands.

So, I ended up leasing the 2016 Optima EX with premium package.

I don’t know why, but numbers don’t match the leasehackr calculator, but that’s what the numbers show on the dealer’s system.

I am looking at a very similar car in Pa/NJ area.
