I wanted to share the deal I just signed on a 2016 Infiniti QX60. This started after I stumbled across the Dec '15 article about leftover 2015’s. After a lot of research, I was hoping for a similar deal. Discounts weren’t quite as deep for the '16s, but the residuals were a bit higher. Here is what I worked out at AutoNation Infiniti Tustin – I was working with Jordan Taulau, who was really awesome.
39/12 lease on QX60 FWD (base model, no options)
MSRP: $43,090
Selling Price: $36,096 (~17% discount)
Residual: 60%
MF (pre MSDs): .00130 – not marked up
9 MSDs x $350 each
MF (post MSDs): .00040
Cap Cost Reduction: $341.39 (after I had mistakenly ran numbers assuming 10 MSDs, they updated to 9, but tossed my final MSD in as a CCR – I was fine with this and didn’t want to have them re work the deal given how good it was)
Base Monthly Payment: $297.92
9% Tax Rate
Monthly Payment with Tax: $324.73
Drive Off was $4,305 and included:
1st payment
$3,150 MSDs
$453.75 fees ($80 doc, $306 reg, $10 county fee, $8.75 tire fee, $29 e-filing, $20 smog abatement)
$37.93 tax on Cap Cost Reduction
$341.39 cap cost reduction
Very happy with the deal and the experience working with the dealership. I was in and out in just over an hour, and didn’t feel frustrated at any point. Highly recommend working with them if you’re in the market for a luxury vehicle!
Lastly, big thanks to Leasehackr (and community) – great resource. I’m now a full-fledged lease-nut!
Wow! You really became a Leasehacker expert. Congratulations. I like your deal so much that I have emailed some dealers in FL asking to replicate it. Lets see what happens!
There were no incentives or rebates included in the deal. It was all dealer discount.
They specifically talked about their interest is in volume (#2 volume Infiniti dealer in the country) so they probably get pretty substantial money back from the Mfr based on that-- pretty much all of the other dealers I worked with in the area couldn’t get close to what I was offered.
FYI - got an email from a forum reader who contacted the dealer. Apparently, the price offered by the dealership included a $1,500 military discount. In my initial email to the dealer I did indicate that I’m military (and USAA member, AAA member, and AMEX platinum member), but they never specified that the price included military pricing. I don’t have sour grapes about that, but it may mean that others won’t be able to get quite the same deal.
Despite this $1,500, the price they offered was well below any other dealership in southern CA. Cheers.
Nice job - working with Bethesda, MD location to see if they can match it. Will let you know if I have any luck. If anyone has any luck replicating this deal, please post here.
Well if you treat the deal as including $1500 as a military discount/incentive the discount is really about 14% off MSRP. Check out TrueCar – the prices pretty competitive. That being said this particular dealer was a couple thousand below what anybody else was offering me. It seems that the trick to these deals is having the right timing and finding the right dealer. For both cars that I have leased ( this one and a 2015 Ford Focus Electric that I leased about two months ago for ~$30/mo, $0 down) most dealers just scoffed at the price I was trying to get. Both deals took a lot of leg work, reaching out to 7-9 dealerships, and actively corresponding with each before making it happen.
I also did 12k per year. Interesting side note- while filling out the paperwork with the financial manager, he mentioned that on a 39/12 lease you don’t I fact get 39k miles, but rather get 45k. I haven’t had time to validate this yet, but it would mean I have far more miles than needed.
No dice here in FL. Despite having Infinity/Nissan VPP pricing and conquest, I was told the numbers MF, residual, etc are incorrect and that the discount gets to 15% below MSRP (not 17%). The SUV I want needs to have blind spot monitoring and backup sensors. This inflates the MSRP to almost 50K. I will keep trying!
Where are you located? I think you should be able to do quite a bit better.
They’re offering you an 8.1% discount off MSRP. I would shoot for 13-15%. A few in this thread got deeper discounts, but they include a $1,500 military discount. Once you pull the military discount out it ends up being about 13% off.
I would encourage you to use the deals explained here to show the dealer it should be doable. Cheers!
