2016 BMW 535i xDrive - Deal evaluation

All, this was a last minute deal I put together before the dealership closed. They are honoring the deal til tomorrow.

A couple of the numbers seem off, but I can hash them out tomorrow morning.

MSRP: 68,120
Sell Price: 50,161.83
Govt Fees: 89
Proc/Doc : 549
Cap taxes: 1335.60
Acq Fee: 925
Gross Cap: 52,971.43
Residual: 39,985.00
Cap Cost Red: 695.00
Net Cap: 52,936.85
Drive off: 695

Monthly Pay: 569, inclusive of tax
3year/30k miles

It’s a retired demo with 5k miles. RV seems to be at 54%, rather than 56%. Corporate fleet discount but did not discuss exact MF. I understand current '16 535 mf is .0014 and corporate fleet lowers to .0020.

The discount is very good in my mind, although I did ask for no cap cost.
Looks like they threw all fees into financing with drive off being 695. Sales tax is 7%, so I’m not sure why the capitalized tax is as high as it is.

Thoughts on the deal?

Do 24 months and 7 MSDs, and you’ll be below $500/month.

Edited to say that you don’t get Corp fleet on demos.

Corporate discount can not be applied to vehicle with excess of 299 miles.

Just to be a bit more tighter, in theory a demo (or previously punched car) could have less than 299 miles but still not qualify for Corp fleet.

Correct, that is a recent change.

Still, how do the numbers look from a big picture perspective regardless of corporate discount? The numbers/discount is from the dealership, however they decided to slice it up and call it.

$18k off is pretty strong. That’s over 25% off right? I’m not sure if I’ve seen better on that type of msrp.

Yes, it’s over 26% off, which is the highest I’ve seen. Still, I’m not sure why they put in the cap cost of $695 and it looks like I’m paying some portion of cap cost reduction sales tax.

I think they tweaked the money factor a little as the payment does not reflect a .0012 rate. Just need to figure that out.

If I pay tax, doc and acquisition fee upfront, obviously the monthly will go down.

$5,000 is trunk money from BMW.

Don’t lose the deal. Just ask the right questions of the finance person.

The car was never “Punched” as a demo to BMW so i was able to combine his Corporate discount to the car also. He isn’t losing the deal  I will be seeing him shortly and working out all the details with him.

Win win. Nice work! Got another one?

This was my last 535, I have a few 528s left.

RV is lower than new cars because it has miles on it. 5000miles x 25 cents=$1250, which is 1.83% off MSRP (almost the 2% difference you are seeing)
Unfortunately the 2016s are not incentivized any more. The 2017 has a 6% higher residual. For example, last October, this same car would have had 66% residual for 36 months and 72% for 24.

Is there any damage disclaimer on the car?
No big deal, just curious. I would still take the car, should have great options for this MSRP

If you do 2 years, you may actually save in the long run. You don’t have to pay registration at two years (you’ll pay for your new car  instead) . And, depending on how much you drive, you don’t have to pay for new tires at the return of the lease.
Not to mention you will get bored of it and want something new sooner

My 2 cents. Deal is OK, car is great, you’ll love it.

Your .02 was worth its weight in gold! If there was ever a post of the year pin, this would get it. The 2 year was less than $7 more per month than the 3 year. With their pull ahead program, I could be in a '17 540 by next October! :+1:

The post above was for you. Thanks again…happened to pull this post up just before going into F&I. Had a huge impact.

Thanks for the business dan see you in a year and a half to order your next 540

Kudos to Jason and the team at bmw north cincy for putting this together. Really a testament to excellent customer service. See you soon!
