2015 Kia Optima EX

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on the lease terms outlined below. I wanted to get some opinions and/or feedback on this lease.

Car Details
Year 2015
Make: Kia
Model: Optima
Trim EX
Color: White
Stock #: FK10296

Lease Details
Retail Price: $25,590.00
Sales Price: $23,500.00
Lease Cash $5,500.00
Acquisition Fee $595.00
Net Capitalized Cost: $18,595.00

Proc/Doc Fees: $449.95
License/Registration: $430.56
First Payment: $256.48
Drive Off: $1,136.99

Miles /yr: 12,000.00
Term (months): 24
Residual: 54%
Money Factor: 0.00118
Base Payment $199.02
Interest Payment $38.24
Tax (9%) $19.22
Payment: $256.48

The math looks right. Seems like a fair deal. A doc fee of $500 is crazy, though.

FYI, the current program expires January 4. No idea if Kia will continue offering supported lease programs on 2015 models after that date.

Thanks for the response.

The car is for my girlfriend who has refused to look at Camry’s or Fusion’s for whatever reason. Prior to signing for the Optima, I finally convinced her to look at the Camry and Fusion. When leasing, it’s really hard to pick anything other than a Camry or Fusion right now. Now I’m in hot pursuit of one of those before the incentives end tomorrow.

While the Camry seems pretty straight forward to figure out, the Fusion is proving a little more difficult. I’m seeing pretty wild variances in incentives from state to state as well as multiple types of incentives that I may or may not qualify for. How can I find out the actual incentives, residuals, and mf for AZ?

Incentives on Fusion aren’t as great in AZ as they are in CA:

2016 Fusion SE
12,000 miles per year:
24 mo: 61% residual, 2.25% APR
36 mo: 52% residual, 0.5% APR
$2,250 lease cash
$500 grad/military/police OR $250 conquest lease/lease renewal

Here they are for Camry:

2016 Camry SE
12,000 miles per year:
24 mo: 71% residual, .00073 MF
36 mo: 63% residual, .00073 MF
$1,250 lease cash
$750 grad OR $500 military

It’s surprising how much programs vary by region. I recently connected a reader in Northern California to a $155/month (including tax), $620 total drive-off 24-month Camry LE lease. Sadly it seems that some dealers in other states impose doc fees that are nearly that amount ($500-$800).

Best of luck with your negotiations! Always work with the internet sales department and get quotes before setting foot in the dealer. You might find sites like TrueCar and Edmunds Price Promise helpful for setting a target price; just be sure to deselect all incentives, as those sites typically include incentives for cash-only purchases.

(Edited residuals to reflect SE model)

Check out Kia of Orland. Seems like you can get a better price on a 2015

Michael,

Thank you so much for your response. The information you provided helps a ton.

Before I got your response last night, I had already asked for the mf, residual, and incentives for Camry SE in AZ on Edmunds. The response I got from their moderator was slightly different than the numbers you provided. While the numbers weren’t significantly different, I like to be really accurate when I approach the dealer so I provide the impression that I know exactly what I’m talking about.

Edmunds said on a 24/12: .0006 MF, 71% Residual, and $1,000 lease cash.

Can you confirm either way?
