Perhaps I’m spoiled by seeing the other deals around here, but effectively $300/mo on a car with a $28k MSRP doesn’t seem like a great value.

An OEM can literally put any MSRP on its car that it wants to.

When looking at other cars, make sure that it’s actually a better car or that it represents better value in ways other than “it had a higher MSRP for the same payment”
