Picked up one of these earlier this year for my wife. It’s a great car because her daily commute can be done on pure electric (~16 miles) and there’s no panic if she forget to charge the night before. Engine alone is peppy enough for driving around SoCal when you run out of charge, and plenty of places with free charging while out and about. Deal is pretty good, this should go quickly!

I’m really considering one myself. Can’t find a car I want for the price I want, so might just opt to save money on a hybrid. How often does she pump given she charges so consistently ?

Does it qualify for the HOV sticker ?

Nope, only the 530e.

No, ironically the 530e does.

We fill up the car maybe once a month, twice if we take any sort of road trip to San Diego / Santa Barbara. Gas tank is smaller than in the regular 3 series (~10 gallons?) but when everything is topped out will report around 370 miles of range possible. She was filling her old X1 once a week, so we’re saving a good $120~150 a month on gas.

Ok, thanks for looking into - much appreciated. I’m at $2,000 DAS and $529 OTD for 36/10 right now with another dealer for a new stock. Would want 12k miles. It’s new so I get the California Rebate of $1,500.

loaner is also eligible for state credit, right?

not on a 330e 20202020220

330e doesn’t qualify for the CA PHEV state credit.

Truth be told it’s a great car overall but the Prius Prime takes it if you’re looking to be financially and perk efficient.

Yep, the Prius Prime does everything the 330e does for lower cost and more electric mileage, and it also qualifies for the CA PHEV state credit. However, I couldn’t stomach the FWD + CVT, nor did I like the styling of the Toyota. This loaner 330e is leasing for around the same price as the national Prius Prime advertised lease deal, so it would be a no-brainer for me.

I agree. This is where the lease or buy question comes in. Definitely lease the 330e or buy the Prius Prime.

And I’m sure the nationally advertised is mid $3x,xxx when this is at $50k value vs practicality at this point

I absolutely love the 330e. Tons of fun to tool around in and handles like a dream. I had one as a loaner when my wife’s X1 was in for service and nearly ended up with a speeding ticket.

Why is the 530e on the HOV list but not the 330e?
I remember it being on the list - what happened?
