17 Nissan Pathfinder Lease Question

Can someone help me make sense of these numbers and how they got to this monthly payment? I’ve tried my calculators, but some of the terms were confusing to me. (I believe MSRP on this one is $41,730 and when I spoke with them, I thought my sales price was $36,293) Then here is what they sent to me:

17 Nissan Pathfinder SL with Premium Pkg
Term - 36m / 12K
Gross Cap Cost - $37889
Sales Tax (I believe 7.125% in MN) - $940.83
1st Year Fees - $499
Net Cap Cost - $38830
Total of Payments - $15763
Other Upfront - $75
Adj Res - $24620
Est Fees/Term - $1497
Total Init Payment - $1011.87
Total Term Dep - $14209
Due on Deliv - $11.87
Monthly Dep - $394.72
Mo Lease Charge - $43.15
Base Payment - $437.87

Pretty sure the first payment is due at signing, as part of the $1011.87.

Thoughts? Any insight help breaking this down would be much appreciated!

Pathfinders don’t lease so well, is the general consensus. Just skip it and go with the QX60. Numerous lease threads out there on those as well.

There must be a $1,000 rebate there.

People reported getting a Highlander XLE AWD for around 330 with minimal driveoffs…a Limited would be more (higher selling price plus 3% lower residual) but might still be less than what you’re seeing for a Pathfinder SL

I actually went ahead and did this deal. I’m comfortable with the Pathfinder, and given I was returning one, they had a deal to get out 2 months early, plus they paid the first payment and I didn’t have a turn-in fee. Following this $125 guideline (http://www.realcartips.com/leasing/0439-good-lease-deal.shtml) it seemed like an okay deal.

Yes…there was $1000 in rebates, that weren’t explained until I leased it.

Thanks for all the insight. This forum has been great, and I have another car to lease, I’ll definitely continue to research what vehicle has the best deal.

Congrats on getting what you wanted…that’s more important than a few pennies on the dollar

Cheers :beers:

Thanks! Even though it’s my 4th Pathfinder, it’s new! At the end of the day, I wanted to be closer to $400 than $500, and I was able to get an SL with NAV, moon roof, and all the other goodies, except the ICC and ventilated seats in the platinum level. The numbers I ran on the Highlander and QX60 were both pushing close to $500 equipped similarly.

Again, this forum has been incredibly helpful! Thank you everyone!
