does anyone know if Illinois also has state rebates for EVs? i googled it but i’m getting conflicting information.

Not much conflicting but appears that stipulations and application are tedious.
It isn’t really sign and drive, they had to pay over $1200 in taxes upfront and it sounded like they had to pay registration on their own (which seems weird on a new car to me)
Yep we pay registration at dmv before the two-month temp tag expires and it is expensive too (calculated based on MSRP and weight). 500e would have about $1k in first year’s registration fee and then the amount drops every year thereafter.
With our generous $5k state incentive (dropping to $3.5k after 12/31) it is not that hard to actually make money on the right vehicle let alone getting a free lease…
