I posted this the Deals and Tips page, under another topic but I feel it should be here since i’m asking a question…
So let me know if they are trying to screw me already…before i even walk into the showroom.
This is the pricing on the car from their site…
MSRP - $37,035
Discounts and rebates - $7,713
Buy it now - $29,322
I found a somewhat local dealership that has a 2016 optima sxl…has 159 miles on it. Probably was a demo/loaner or something.
So i emailed the salesperson and asked what the best price before any rebates or anything like that. I asked her for a 24/15k lease. She tried pulling we don’t give lease prices over email only in person. I told her once I have a sale price i agree on then I can come down and discuss lease prices. I know that KIA is offering $7,500 in lease cash and $500 in bonus cash. I told her i didn’t qualify for anything else except conquest cash if there was any. This was her response…
“Actually, there’s $2,500 in bonus cash rebates that you qualify for and $1,000 additional dealer discount we are offering! Since you don’t qualify for the military/college grad ($400) or the loyalty ($500) rebates then we would have to add that $900 back onto the price online. So, the price would be $31,271, with a scheduled appointment. Any negotiation from there is conducted in the dealership. Are you interested in setting up a time to come in?”
What do you guys think? I feel like the price is good…but can definitely come down more because she is hiding cash on me.
Sign up to become an Uber driver and receive additional rebate. [It works for Hyundai and some of the literature say it works for Kia, the question is whether that information is dated].
Many of us had tried to get discounts on the SXL but failed. The guys at the dealer told me they only have around $850 to play with the price. But he didn’t have problem lowering the SX $4000 off the MRSP.
Correct me if i’m wrong…I’m still learning.
Even say they have $850 to play with…the car does have 159 miles on it, so someone drove it for a little bit or it went on 30 test drives. Say they drop the car $1000 (round number), shouldn’t I still get $8,000 off the msrp due to those bonus cash rebates from kia?
@cheapdad00 - I have a pending application with uber…i just have to confirm my driving history. Have to hit up the DMV.
On kia’s site for a 24month lease it’s up to 8k total. I emailed her back saying that i know about the 8k in lease and bonus cash and that she was trying to hide that from me. I asked her again for the best price before rebates…lets wait and see what happens.
Forgive me, but I looked all over Kia, Edmunds and all and I can’t find this awesome rebate (or cash back?) even if I use your zipcode. Please post a link. Thank you!
