ADA AMA still has it thankfully
Yes but now $1000 vs $2000 back then
Is there still lease support for 2025.5 XC90 T8s? I see “no data available” in Ratefindr but wanted to double check.
I just hit 6 months remaining on my insanely low payment on my 2025 T8 that I signed in Nov 2024. I LOVE my car, but want to keep leasing. Right now, I am in the middle of a negotiation on a 2026 B6 and am within $138 of my currently monthly rate. I decided to go with the B6 because I didn’t use the plug in nearly as much as I thought I would. Does anyone expect rebates and incentives to get better closer to fall? I am currently working with A-plan, Costco, Loyalty, lease cash, spring bonus. Pulling ahead now is going save me minimal $ versus paying mileage overage.
No one knows what rebates will look like in the fall but premium gas is $5.42 a gallon national average. This seems like a time to keep the lease and plug it in to save on gas now. Chances are gas will be cheaper in six months when you move to a B6. You should be saving five bucks a day on gas just by plugging in overnight.
Have you driven the B6 version? I’ve had both the XC90 and 60 versions as loaners and couldn’t wait to get my T8 back. The electric engine, at least on the XC90 makes a huge difference. Add to that the ability to charge it overnight and save on gas, it’s a no brainer. I’m still on my same tank from 2 weeks ago and there’s like 75%.
I agree. I drove B6 and felt weird but maybe cause used to the EV kicks in when needed.
It’s 295 hp vs 455 hp… that’s definitely a difference you can feel.
Isn’t B6 316 hp? At least it was on my 2019. T8 is way better than B6, especially with air suspension.
B6 is a major step down compared to T8
I also drove b5 xc40 loaner and it felt underpowered I can’t image how it feels on XC90
Any suggestions for replacing a cracked windshield on these? I have a quote from Safelite for $875, debating between getting it replaced vs turning it in paying for the repair cost during inspection.
PS- the dealer quoted $1300 for the part (OEM) + $400 installation.
Related but unrelated
Had a XC90 T5 and T6 at the same time back 5 years ago. T6 had air suspension so it drove nicer but day to day driving around town - I was hard pressed to really notice the power difference on the 5 vs 6. It’s there but not as mush as I would have expected. FWIW
Do you have glass coverage on your insurance policy? If so just file a claim
I drove an XC60 2.0L super turbo charged 316 HP / 295 lb before my T8. I’m not an engine person and that isn’t high on my list. I expect the noticeable difference from electric/hybrid to gas but I am far less concerned about the power. My XC60 was almost too much for my liking. So for someone like me, I think I am okay with the step down?
I need to go drive one before I commit to the car. Unfortunately, I can almost get to my office on a single charge - I don’t really drive enough for the gas to be impactful. I plugged it in last night for the first time in a few weeks only because my tank was low. I just can’t justify the additional expense but if you’re telling me the B6 will make me hate the car…
Unfortunately, no glass coverage. Plus high deductible.
YMMV but I posted the numbers I’m getting from my XC60 T8
I averaged 4-5 fillups per month in the V60 B5 and I’m averaging 1 fill per month in the XC60 T8. It’s cheapest for me to charge overnight, current gas prices even make it worthwhile to recharge on-peak (if you can wait for the slow-ass onboard charger).
Definitely go drive a B6 and compare.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…So true.
OK OK I am now back to looking for a T8
Honestly buying a t8 might be the move. Get a used one in 45-50K.
