Soon I will post the details deal I got on my S60 (over 26% off of MSRP), but now I am closing on my wife’s XC60 that has an MSRP of $45485. It was tough to get the same savings on the SUV, but they are giving it to me for $472.50 a mo tax included, 0 down, on a 36 mo, 12K, transfer tag, tier one lease.
Does this sound like a good deal. No other dealer is touching it.
I wonder how much more I would have to pay for an XC90. I assume much more, but if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.
Crap, sorry I should have specified that it was for a 2017 xc60, non metallic, pretty much base inscription with walnut inserts, only add on is the preferred package, cargo cover and the polestar, which I had them add at the port offering to pay the full msrp on the add on (Originally, without polestr it was at $450). The polestar on my s60 makes a huge difference in the driving experience. It drives like a $328i or better (much better than the 5 cylinder s60 T5 with sports package I bought in 2014).
Can you base this on examples? I literally called 7 other dealerships and no one would even match it; not even the guy who sold me leased me my $42850 2017 s60 for $355 sign and drive (also helping me out with used tires and a small dent). Have you heard of others getting better discounts? A helping hand would be appreciated.
I feel like you should be able to get a better deal because of the body change on the 18 model. Not quite sure though. I was hoping to get one pretty cheap but kind of lost hope because I think its their best or one of their best selling cars in the US. Gonna try my luck on the v60 wagon cc instead bc the wagons apparently do poorly in the us.
Do you have the numbers? MF/RV, selling price, tax, AWD/FWD? I think you should be getting same or about the same discounts as you got on S60.
You should get $6,000 + $1,000 loyalty for your S60 = $7,000 off on top of dealer discount (probably ~$3k off MSRP and $1.5K under invoice). Total discount about 25%.
No security deposit required. Monthly payment of $339 based on $45,040 MSRP of 2017 XC60 T5 AWD Dynamic with Heated Seats and Metallic Paint, includes destination charge and application of $4,500 Volvo Allowance and $1,500 Lease Bonus
Here they list ~18% discount (not counting loyalty) and you will have extra $2.5K ($1K loyalty + $1.5 lease allowance - 5.35%), so total right there is $23-24% off.
Is there any money down on that $339 lease deal? The MSRP is close. I assume that does not also include the acquision fee, deeler fees and tax. It is surprising how quickly that adds up. I went to 3 dealers advertising that deal and none quoted me lower than $470 for a base tax included.
Should I get a better deal, sure, since the discount is not the same as I got on my s60, but I dont think I CAN get a better deal. I don’t think the money factor and the residuals are the same between the XC60 and the s60. I would love to see some concrete examples of getting a better deal.
I was going to go with a Sorento SXL or a Santa Fe Ultimate, but they all were going to be in the $420 range at best and my insurance would go up $5-10 bucks with them. My insurance drops $40 a month with the SUV, so considering they also save me $10 a month by waiving the disposition fee on my wife’s s60 (2014), the payments are basically the same.
It is a FWD by the way. The deal on the site is for $10k, not 12k. If you add the $4009 to the $329 payment and include tax (S.Florida 7%) it comes out to $471.19 and there is no mention of dealer fees. The MSRP is also 2k lower than that of my car.
Still think it’s a bad deal to get the same as the national offer on a car that is 4-5% more expensive and with 2k miles extra a year. In addition, they are taking out a dent and replacing 2 tires.
Yep, I think the S60’s residuals were almost 10% more.
Considering that, it really is not a bad deal, but a good one. Again, I have been physically to 3 other dealers telling them the deal and they all allowed me to walk away. One even did so twice, and that is after they knew they lost out on the s60 because they did not match the price. Maybe its the market. Still I looked at 17 SUVs to see where I could get the best bang for buck and Volvo was it, especially considering the insurance breaks and the loyalty advantage. I could not believe that neither a Santa Fe Ultimate, Sorento SXL (horrible dash material that scuffs up incredibly easy-I actually found the interior cheap), Ford Edge Titanium with 302a, Ford Escape, Chevy 1018 Equinox, GMC 2018 Terrain, 2017 Acadia, 2017 Jeep Cherokee (not that I would want it), among others could not be had for at least $25 cheaper (Again, considering the insurance breaks and loyalty advantages as well as fuel savings).
If the deal is not a great one, how do you explain no one is matching it? Something must be off somewhere. My true car certificate would bring the price down to 35928 (21% discount), but I should be able to do better than that. I would probably still be at 35K, which would add about $20+ tax. I have to roll in the transfer tag, but that should not be much.
With a $23% discount I got the following payment, but that is with a drive off of $660, which adds $18,33, bring it to $10 more than the payment I was quoted. Remember, this is a true sign and drive. I am not even paying the first month.
Impossible to see. So, if you take $403/mo from my example and roll everything in (about $2K, I guess) then you are at their numbers. But it is still a pretty shitty deal on an outgoing model that no one wants with huge inventory. You can’t really squeeze anything else there.
I also made a mistake. The residual should be 47, not 49%. Anyhow, I am asking at Edmunds what they think. If you have any suggestions of better deals out there, I would be happy to field them. Again, I have researched the hell out of which SUV to target. I did not want to end up at the xc60, but I just kept being led back to it. I doubt I would be able to get the 2018 for even $20 more, or I would wait.
But is 22-23% really a shitty deal when true car says the best deal someone has reached is 19.28% off of MSRP?
I also think your numbers were for 10k, I did not see 12k on edmunds for this month and I was told the residuals went down.
I really appreciate your help, btw. Thanks so much!!!
Btw the xc60 should be dirt cheap like @Ursus states. Dealers are holding firm. I think the 2018 aren’t out until fall according to the website. I’m visiting a dealer Friday. I’ll ask around. I’m interested in this thread since I will be in the market for an suv this winter.
