The X5 will serve you much better than the Discovery because as others have experienced, Land Rover products while their off road ability is top notch, their reliability is awful.
Case in point:
Discovery Sport - leased 3 years - was in the service dept for a total of 1 year due to parts they had to order from the UK.
At the end of the lease I had 12K miles left and I turned it in and got a refund.
Never will get a Land Rover product unless I have other cars to rely on.
BTW: the loaners I drove for a year were fantastic: RR Sport, Jaguar F Pace, Jaguar XF…
