It was in the fall of '99, so already well into model 2000s, which means I should have have got a bigly yuuge discount on a '99. And the internet was around then, very much around. I don’t think Edmunds was, but I should have been smart enough to search “how to lease a car” on AltaVista
The reason I went down the path to an Accord was I test drove a Prelude at the dealership earlier. Then a few days later came back to buy it, but it was already gone. So the sales rep was like, hey how about an Accord Coupe? It had a 5 Spd, pretty peppy for that time, after the test drive I said yeah let’s do it. I broke pretty much all the rules of car shopping, LOL.
After getting a few really good deals recently, I went back to 2005 and looked at the leases I’ve had over the past 12 years. My 2015 Sienna came in at 1.49% (way above the 1% rule). Looking at my negotiation papers, I noticed they charged me $607 for GAP insurance which should have been No Charge through Toyota Financial.
My worst lease was very recent and it was my first lease 2013 audi a4 base with rim package $1500 oop $460 tax in(Florida) 42month 12k per year i traded in a 2010 328i was told im not upside down… i had no clue about rv mf msrp nothing!! Lesson learned and thanks to this forum… now i have a 2017 f-type base convertible $1400 oop 33/10 $516 tax in
