I’m planning ahead to tint my Jeeps windows. I was thinking of doing ceramic on the 4 door windows and 3m crystalline or ceramic on the windshield. The guy that did my last 4 vehicles sold his business. I’ve been using Rayno S7 and recently read that Rayno is a bit hazy. I never noticed. I’m not sure if I want to use the new guy or go somewhere else. There seems to be a lot of options in my area. My goal is uv and heat rejection. What is the best value auto tint brands/choices? Is crystalline worth the extra money for the windshield? Do any LHers in the Milwaukee area have a tint shop recommendation?
I would give priority consideration to the installer, and look at the film/brand second. Any issues are going to be handled by the shop, not 3M. It is extremely reassuring to know your installer is a) reputable and b) experienced. In my tint endeavors with a couple dozen cars, only the shady shops use cheap film. When you get the the mid to high level quality film, you’re really splitting atoms.
Seek out some recommendations first.

If you don’t mind traveling down towards Chicago, both Black Star Distribution (Buffalo Grove) and Chicago Auto Pros (Glenview or Lombard) do a fantastic job.
Otherwise, I would find some local car clubs/forums and see who they can recommend.
fwiw, Chance’s in Rochester, Wisconsin, may still be a worthy detour.

It’s just a charming, unexpected restaurant in such a tiny town well off the main route.
When I lived in Chicago I had clients in Milwaukee, and sometimes I’d take creative detours to kill time – to avoid getting into traffic at the wrong time of day – on the way home.
