Why would a dealer not honor the dealer discount on a lease?

Dealer advertises $8,000 dealer discounts, $3,000 in bonus cash on their website. When asked for a lease quote, they offer $2,000 dealer discounts, $2,000 in lease cash. Say they don’t like leasing. Any inside knowledge on why they don’t like leasing?

That ad/price is if you buy the car financed through the dealer, not if you lease the car.

Lease rebates/deals/money is separate from financing a purchase deals. The cash price on that car is even $500 higher than if you finance through the dealer.
