Why is 2000 mile 2020 Q50 worth less than 5000 mile Q50?

So, I got a quote from Vroom for 2k miles Q50 2020 valued at 35000. Then I went and changed miles and requested evaluation again @ 5000 miles. Voila! The car’s worth now $37500.

Out of curiosity tried the same thing with Carvana same thing. 5k miles is worth more than 2k.

Any insights why? Or is it just a computer error because cars above 4999 miles are considered used and valued more because of corona induced demand on used cars ?

You got 3k miles of driving to do /s

The numbers they spit out are based on some algorithm. Just email them and they can answer your question better than anyone here can.

Worst case scenario go on a road trip!

I’ve sold to Vroom in the past. Input the higher mileage and the contract with then will have 5000 miles at the higher price. Once signed and finalized that’s the payout. Receiving a car with less miles will be a blessing to Vroom.

You can also state that you anticipated that you’d exceed the 250 miles threshold due to a planned road trip.
