Most games are boring so far.
bringing all these small countries and making most teams qualify for the second round just to make more money to FIFA is ruining the first round in my opinion.
Hopefully next week’s games will be interesting.

The new format is fine but the lack of scoring in many games has been boring. Too many 0-0 or 1-1 ties. People don’t want to pay thousands to see that.
Maybe those 3rd place teams advancing can pull of a surprise or two in the knockout rounds.
Uruguay. There wasn’t any expectation on Scotland. Belgium is far away from their good days.

Lately yeah especially starting like 15-20 years ago. Growing up I remember much more attacking style of play compared to the passing not to lose the ball nonsense we see now.

Several factors appear to be contributing:
- Expanded field (48 teams): More mismatches between elite and lower-ranked teams have produced more high-scoring games.
- Attacking style: Many teams have played more aggressively than in recent tournaments.
- Fewer scoreless draws: The group stage has featured relatively few 0-0 matches compared with previous World Cups.
Historical perspective
- If the tournament finishes around 3.0 goals per game, it would be:
- the highest-scoring World Cup since 1970, and
- the highest of the 32- or 48-team era by a comfortable margin.
It’s still well below the extraordinary scoring rates of the 1930s and especially 1954 (5.38 goals/game), when football was much more attack-oriented and defensive tactics were far less developed.
