Which website to trust for incentives? Hyundai or Autobytel?

So I’m trying to find out the current incentives for a 2017 Elantra Value Edition. I go to hyundai.com and choose the car and calculate my payment. I see a $3,000 “2017 Hyundai Elantra Value Automatic Transmission Special Financing” offer applied to the lease payment calculator. When I go to Autobytel I only see a $2,000 Bonus Cash incentive. Both have expiration dates of 9/5/17, so it doesn’t look like I’m getting outdated info. I’ve entered my zip code (83686 if anyone cares) at both sites.

My gut is to trust hyundai more since they should know, right? But I don’t understand why there is a difference.

Also, I don’t see the Uber $1,000 offer on the lease calculator at hyundai, only on the purchase calculator. I’ve heard different stories on if it applies to leases or not. Do I just have to talk to my local dealership? Should I even trust that they will know?

Thanks!

I would trust hyundai’s website over autobytel. Hyundai is one of the few manufacturers that actually broadcast out incentives. Other manufacturers you’re going to have to jump through loops.

Talk to MULTIPLE local dealers if you don’t hear what you want to hear. That way you know it’s the truth. Don’t mention you’ve been talking to another dealer.

post the question on edmunds and use them as a tiebreaker

Good to know, thanks!

I have, it looks like the responses there are a bit slow lately. Maybe the new month has people scrambling trying to figure out the new incentives? Hopefully I’ll have a response soon.

I am curious about the uber lease applicability. I know some people have claimed that the dealers say you can use it but how do we know the dealer isn’t just pulling $1k out of some other hidden bucket and saying it’s uber so you’ll lease the car?

That’s why you shouldn’t mention Uber until you have all the numbers from the dealer. After getting the numbers, apply all the incentives that you may qualify, like uber, college, military and etc. I only told the dealer I qualify for all these when I went into the dealership to sign the paperworks. They didn’t like it, but there wasn’t much they can do about it.

i only see 2000 lease cash; i go to “research” then “incentives and rebates” then insert zip and car info.

the forums might get you a different answer:
“Hyundai incentives are regional, and we don’t have all the regions, so $3250 could be correct for the Northeast.”

carsdirect.com is pretty good

It looks like Hyundai.com has now changed to show only the $2,000 incentive as well. Oh well, I need to wait for my BoostUp account to reach 30 days anyway.

Mine showed $2000 earlier this morning when I clicked Tony’s link, but is now showing $2250.
