Which one of you is asking for a c63 for 700 a month?

His store is selling tons each month now from social media leads. I guess it’s not for everyone, but I enjoy his schtick and imo he does an excellent job teaching and mentoring. You’d be shocked at how few stores do this well in auto.

When they said “can’t get a C-class for $400” month, I looked at my $338+tax posting :joy:

Yeah, but AMG doesn’t, right?

Yeah my AMG doesn’t. Odd

I always say this to family members and friends who ask for unicorn like deals; dealers do not build these fancy buildings to give away deals, they are in it to make money, like any other business.

LOL. This would be me but C63 is ass

Yeah I would agree, and I definitely don’t care for him.

Apparently the $7500 incentive is a mistake?

IDK him but I don’t doubt he is. Because it’s pretty common for a higher end store to operate in a pseudo monopoly of their own lazy subset of customers.

Manhattan people who won’t go to Brooklyn for a better deal. Either of them who won’t go to Staten Island. LI people who won’t get off the island. North shore Boston people who won’t go to the south shore.

Just even hint at the idea and they’re like

Why? That’s so strange, let me pay 10k more for my car because I won’t drive 1-2 hours for a better deal. We drove 5 hrs each way for a recent deal which saved us roughly that amount. Pretty good ROI.

This would be the assumed scenario imo, and he seems to believe he is God based off of the aura in the videos lol.

makes his job real difficult

Hell there are people I know for a fact that basically don’t look at vehicles outside of the town/city that they live in. Quite common. I believe that some people, at least to some extent, have the mentality of “this is the price that I have to pay if I want this truck, car, etc.”. Completely oblivious that dealer prices can vary greatly.

Enough people in this demographic who

  1. Think being successful at one thing makes them successful at everything. They’ll call two dealers, have the second beat the first and then pat themselves on the back on their amazing negotiating skills.

  2. Are in transactional marriages. Either spouse would rather you have an affair than do something as skin-crawling as spending 5 hours in the same car just to pick up a new one.

This and also some people have a strong loyalty to a dealer or salesman for no good reason. I know someone who is getting a Hyundai and told me that X Dealer is the only place they will go to. They aren’t even offering anything special, in fact they’re charging addendums. They’ve never even bought anything from them before. They love the dealer simply because the dealer offers “free oil changes” and they will help them get the color combo they want. They could shop around and save $5k but they don’t care (they’re not wealthy by any means either).

Doug Horner? Sounds like a porno star.

At least there’s a monetary benefit. Once someone told me they only shop at one store because everyone greets them by name. Imagine such low-hanging fruit for customer satisfaction.

Also reminds me of how stupid the marketing people at Audi of America are. “Free maintenance” is actually a driver for a lot of people. The big brains at AOA actually make it free for smarter people but reap none of the advertising benefits of hawking its freeness to the uninformed masses.
