Where do you invest your money?

Time to buy the dip.

I thought I did that on Friday with Intel and Snapchat after they droped almost 30% in a day. They are down again today

And carry trade

Seeing as the s&p is up 5% over that time span including recent drops, wasnā€™t a good move.

Generally changing 100% of your allocation is not gonna be a good time.

I think we have a ways to go down from here. Iā€™m risk averse, any +5% guaranteed return on the amount of capital I have invested is good enough for me. I keep equities in my 401k but other than that I wont touch them in this market.

Time in market > timing market

However when we get juicy dips like this, itā€™s the perfect time to catch the falling knife all the way down. The further we fall, the bigger the opportunity :ok_hand:

QE infinity.

Anybody invest in Private Equity funds? I have the opportunity to get into some through work.

Strongly opposed, illiquid, not marked to market. Would depend on the details but generally if asking this question itā€™s probably not a great opportunity and more likely buying someone elseā€™s bags.

I am pretty familiar with the asset class and investment strategies. The investors are mostly institutional, so was just wondering if anyone had experiences as an individual investor.

California Coast Credit Union (CCC) is offering a 5-month Celebration Certificate CD with a 9.50% annual percentage yield (APY) to celebrate its 95th anniversary. The certificate requires a minimum deposit of $500 and a maximum of $3,000.

The $3000 limit seems a little low to me so I am a bit hesitant opening an account there.

Iā€™d consider it if it were for more than five months. In my case putting $3K into this vs. a 5% treasury bill not subject to state tax would maybe net an incremental $35 over five months.

One of my early jobs was preparing financial statements for hedge funds & private funds. Youā€™ll be better off putting them at low cost index funds tied to s&p 500.

You hate private equity that much? I assume you also think equity markets are going to go the same direction now?

Did a little selling Friday and popping some cash back into Wealthfront for a month or two. If anyone wants Wealthfrontā€™s 5.5% APY, I have one more referral left for the 3 month bonus. PM me for a link; I donā€™t want to share it here and risk multiple people using it since Iā€™ll only benefit from one more referral.

sounds like an AI post.
