My current lease is ending in October. When is the appropriate time to engage with a broker? I am located in the DC metro area, if that maters. It doesn’t seem to be many brokers here specifically for that region, but I have no problem heading up to the NE tri-state area for a good deal.
If you’re not looking to buy until October, it’s fruitless to look any sooner than that.

Talk to a broker when you’re ready to lease. No point in taking up their time if you’re not ready to sign.

I’d say start thinking about what you want in September. Go test out some vehicles and then approach a broker when you have a good idea about what specific model and trim you’re looking at.
(Although with the caveat that some programs do allow an earlier termination (Volvo’s Pull Ahead for example)
