So if I request a duplicate title (because I lost/misplaced the original) is it actually a duplicate title in every sense of the word, or does the title number change every time a new title is issued (duplicate or not)? I know the title number will change if a change in ownership is registered, but what about the case where a current owner requests a duplicate to replace a lost title?
