What's fair for a new (old model B9.5) Audi SQ5 still sitting on dealer lot?

Found a new 2025 (old model B9.5) audi SQ5 Premium Plus sitting on a lot in New Jersey, MSRP ~$72k. Assume dealer would be pretty motivated to shift this given the 2025.5s and 2026s are piling up and the 2027s are coming soon. It seems as though dealers were selling these for 15%+ discounts to get them off the lot a year ago and would think discount should be deeper now. What’s realistic that a dealer would accept? 20%? Any tips to lock in the best price appreciated.

Make an offer and see what happens. You offer doesn’t need to be “fair”.

With a sub 50% rv and a mf that starts in .003 I’d run the math with exact numbers to figure out what discount you would need to get into a payment your comfortable with.

It’s pushing a boulder uphill when two variables aren’t remotely favorable.

what do you typically say to a dealer that respond with:

wHeRe dId yOu gEt tHaT nUmBeR???

No way a dealer is taking 20% on a new car with no back-end money, they’d rather just fire-sale it to a local/walk in client who thinks 9% is a “crazy deal”
