What would you buy for $10k?

Rear footrests?

Enough room to place my plans and laptop. Can’t go wrong here.

What do you guys think of these 2 2008 Subaru Outback’s? Cars? The pricing?

1st is Gold with 133K Miles: Used Cars for Sale Stamford CT 06902 Bianco Auto Sales

2nd is White with 113K Miles:

arent these motors oil burners or had they fixed those issues with these?

Way overpriced. Look at this example for 2k less with 3k+ worth of maintenance done.

Good question for Outback forums, it really depends what maintenance has been done. If you post questions there you will get a lot of specific advice what to check.

someone talk me out of this

Toyota Corolla, the best deal you can get. Lowest depreciation in the market and high reliability, so in a year when you want to sell you are bound to lose less money.

Other options would be civic and prius, the latter with less than 7 years if possible

Does this help to talk you out of it?

These types of generalizations are so inaccurate.

Aim for all 3 of the higher-BMW-reliability trifecta

Manual
N/A
RWD

The E90 is a great platform. Steering and handling of any RWD sport suspension trim is virtually unmatched in any newer sedan.

100% worth the higher maintenance cost over something like a Corolla for an enthusiast.

hell, I’d take that.
If it was a different color combo and slicktop, it would be perfect.

I’ve had many BMW leases, incl the convertible version of the E90 which was the E93, all of them with many trips to the dealer for repairs. There wasn’t a time where I looked at the bill and didn’t say to myself “oooof I’m glad this is under warranty”.

My last BMW at 8000 mi had the multifunctional digital instrument cluster go bad. $2500 part.

Show me a person that said “I own a 12 yr old BMW, they’re reliable and the best part is that parts and labor are cheap”.

No one ever said that.

But stick to the trifecta (avoid turbos, automatics and X-drive) and…
