I apologize if this is too broad, but I think a few people are in this boat. I was going to buy out my lease (ends 03/01) but after thinking it through it made no sense because my Volvo V60 residual is 25k and the car is worth about 18k. So now I am suddenly in the market for a new car (likely a luxury Sedan), like most of the folks on this forum I am not stuck on a particular make/model but will take any car that is a good deal. Here is what I researched so far (thanks to all of the great tips on this site)
2018 Volvo S90 - Seemed like this was going to be the way to go, but after some research the incentives are down to $3750 and $1000 (I have no Aplan) which makes the S90 decent but nothing special from what I can tell.
Mercedes/BMW Loaner - Seems like this is always an option for a decent lease, but its a little more difficult to research since loaners are always inventory dependent.
Infiniti Q50 - Seems like this is still viable, considering but not a huge fan of the aesthetic of that car so I am still looking.
BMW i3 - Can’t do an electic car right now
So, what is missing off this list? Any model that is particularly good now that is not on the list? Jaguar seems to come up frequently in the trophy garage. My Plan B is to just get the A4 I really want, but without taxes and 10% off MSRP its still like $600/month.
Search the forum. There are tons of topics on luxury sedans within February that cannot be summed up in a post with much detail. Look at 3 series, C class, E class, and maybe S90. Lexus ES350 and Acura TLX doesn’t lease as well as the others I mentioned
To piggyback, time’s-a-tickin. The current word on the street is that many (if not all) of these brands will stop leasing 2017s at the end of this month. Supply is dwindling as well. You’re going to have your work cut out for you.
I’m in the same boat. Recently checked out the Giulia (limited cargo space, no touchscreen) and the Q50 (weird entertainment system, no CarPlay). Still in search
I am in VA (outside of DC). Thanks for the list everyone, I will keep you posted on how things go and pass along any deals I find, worst case I think I can still extend my lease another 1-2 months.
Until the end of month an extra 500 + 500 on Volvo for you (loyalty + presidents day). Do you have to lease this month, Volvo may change incentives in Southern region next month ( no inside knowledge, just a couple of dealers I’ve been tracking have sold 0 s90s in 2018).
Having a similar issue deciding on a lease in the Columbus, OH area. Trying to find a solid lease for my brother around $300-350 max a month. Was quoted $465/mo, 0 down for a 2017 Civic Coupe today. I’m assuming they just really don’t lease well. Any recommendations to keep in that price range but still get a lot of car for the money? Thanks in advance!
I would go for a C-class or 3-series sedan. I know the luxury coupes lease horrible compared to sedans not sure if it applies to the Civic. but it seems so here lol
Appreciate your help! I’m assuming the coupe was the issue too… What should I expect (or hope to negotiate) to pay monthly for a zero drive off C-class or 3-series decently equipped with AWD?
I’m not an expert as I am trying to plan out my lease well in advance so I can get a good deal. But from what I’ve seen on the forum $350 seems like a good target. Definitely try to get the 1% rule (lease payment is under 1% of MSRP). If you are OK with a loaner or demo you could get it for a lower payment
I’ll shoot for the $350ish area then! I really appreciate your help. Hopefully things go well and I can make it happen. The 1% rule seems to work out pretty well.
Not sure if Ohio is the best place to have it but Volt Premiere should be in his price range and if he can charge it at home the savings on gas can go towards the payment.
