I need to lease an SUV. Any models not affected by the chip shortages? The prices are gouging and I don’t see any deals that can be even close to reasonable.
I am afraid to buy or lease by expensive now then sell later after the shortage is fixed then may lose a significant amount of money. Appreciate your input.

Be sure to specify your location when asking for input on a deal! Tagging by state (e.g. CA, NJ, NY) is mandatory.

Hi. We have several of these “what should I get” threads full of recommendations:

This is crazy!! So as far as I’m seeing there is no negioating in prices right? either you buy it or someone will buy it? Am I right on this?

> Hi there, new to the forums and this whole leasing thing. Watched several videos and read through numerous posts, quite overwhelming to say the least. I had a few questions which I would love some feedback on and suggestions. I currently live in WA, will be working in Portland OR, car will be primarily for driving back and forth to work. So I was thinking of a 36/12k lease agreement. I’ve heard that a good starting off point is not to lease more than 10% of your monthly salary. I am looking we…

This assuming NJ’s Charge Up program returns this summer and the combination of the fed incentive. So, what would you recommend as I’d like to start test driving vehicles next month. If you need any additional data, please ask! Must be full sized sedan or suv, as I have 1 in a rear facing car seat and likely have a second during the course of the next vehicle lease. Thanks!

> Hello all! Looking for some advice as to the nicest SUV I would be able to lease in the South Florida area in the $650-$700 range. Some of the options I was considering were the following: GV80 Macan Velar X5 My credit score across the 3 bureaus ranges from 730-770. As far as money down, I would like to just give the min to cover the first month and also reg, tag, etc… Is this price range doable with some of the options I mentioned above? Thanks and I look forward to your suggestions a…

And one specifically for the shortages:

Mercedes-Benz maker Daimler joined its German peer Volkswagen AG in announcing it’s [affected](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-07/mercedes-meets-european-co2-targets-as-sales-recovery-continues) by the industrywide supply bottleneck, without quantifying the impact. Honda said it …

**TL;DR** (please do read)

- Hyundai is least impacted by chip shortages, but also in demand (🦨🙊 _their blonde headrests smell like chemicals_)
- Every American (especially who hasn’t had a car in forever) is looking at suvs
- Especially 3-row SUVs, of which there are not many choices, nor much inventory

If you are looking at _any_ SUV now, you have never had more competition from other buyers who feel like they won 3rd prize in Powerball. They are less interested in sedans and wagons.

These threads are a challenge because it quickly becomes “but I don’t like” / “but one time” …

Can I suggest you browse these **incredibly current** threads (all updated this week, most **today** ) about what is and is not leasing well, and maybe ask a more specific question we can help with?

I just purchased a 2021 GMC Acadia SLT with a $44,110 MSRP for $32,100 if that helps.

I had to look around and drive a couple hours out of my way, but I got about 10% off MSRP on a Rogue SL. (Yes, I know there’s little love for Nissans here, but the 2021 is vastly improved over the 2020.) I’m in AZ.

Also, do you have any benefits through work? For instance, I have Subaru VIP through work which prices the car at invoice. My local dealer would honor that, as I think they are required to, though he obviously didn’t want to and grossly underpriced my trade to discourage me I think. That said, I could have sold my trade elsewhere and picked up the Forester if I had liked it better.
