Wear and tear insurance - Jeep Sahara

,

My car engine broke in the last month of the lease and car was with the dealer till last minute. Delear completed the repair after my lease matured. I am not able to schedule an inspection - Chrysler is not allowing it unless I extend the lease. I took wear and tear insurance when I leased it.

I have couple of issues on the car - two credit card sized scraches(slight smaller). One side mirror broke and small yellow signal broke

  1. Can I return to the dealer without the third party inspection
  2. Should I extend the lease for one more month. schedule a insprection and return
  3. Repair with third party and return it now?

Any suggestions from leasehackrs?

Side mirror being broken and the yellow signal being broken won’t be covered by the excess wear and tear insurance. You’d have to get that fixed out of pocket.

I would take door #2, but know you need to get those parts fixed before the inspection, unless you don’t care about the cost knowing that you’ll get dinged for it on return.

Thank you for the reply -

Is there any limit on how much they can charge per incident if I dont repair?

How lenient is Chrysler Capital on lease about wear and tear?

I’m speaking in general terms, I’ve never leased with CC.

Generally speaking, if there’s damage, there’s no cap. It needs to get repaired. Either you do it beforehand, and that would most likely be the cheaper route, or give it back and know they’ll likely charge you more.

As for leniency, that wouldn’t matter too much, especially if you’ve got the excess wear and tear.
