Volvo XC90 T8 ABA drama

Nothing you can do. ABA requirements were updated due to the rush in sign ups.

Someone else will probably take the car, even without the ABA incentive.

I doubt it. Some of that $2,000 will have to come back as more lease cash or lower MF.

Maybe a walk-in customer or someone not on LH.

There aren’t enough of those which is why Volvo is in this predicament in the first place

Even at lower t8 discounts, I’m just about almost out. These things sell nicely. I’m putting people who are shopping for like atlases and pilots into them. The other Volvo stuff is sitting though. Then again, it’s generally very slow for dealers now.

Do you know when dealers were notified of this change, or if they even were?

Agreed

Anyone thinking about best value for any 2-3 row SUV is gravitating to these, understandably

When it’s between a basic Mazda, Jeep, etc or these…there is no comparison

earlier this week, yeah.

@aronchi and @Bostoncarconcierge -

Agree 100% on the XC90 for a 3rd row SUV. Have driven, owned or looked at many of the others and have an Atlas rental now. Awful, awful, awful.

The XC90 seems to be a good choice even without the ABA drama.

I couldn’t agree more

ABA shouldn’t be a deal killer for anyone if they were shopping for / needing a car.

There’s nothing else in market close to this value wise. The leases are half the price of the Germans and the same or less than the Japanese/Koreans.

No brainer

I had 2 months left on a GCL limited. I ate the payments because I figured I would not come across a better deal for a 3 row suv than current xc90 deals.

Smart move

I completely agree with that

There was actually a glitch this week with ABA pins saying expired when they really weren’t. You have to reach out to A Plan (not ABA, Volvo cars or Volvo financial) and they will generate a new code for you. I sued the text messaging feature through Volvo cars and they provided me with the information to contact A plan.

Makes sense. I doubt that any pin generated before 11/21 rule changes would be canceled.

maybe you should take my word on this? maybe i’m looking at the actual sales bulletin?

Nah, thanks. There are too many words coming out from you lol
But common sense says that if they do cancel all pins before 11/21, then they have go back to the start and validate every deal with ABA. And then some pissed lawyer may sue them becuase the 90 days requirement was never in their rules prior to 11/21.

“…and VIN not handed to a customer by EOD 11/21”
Whatever that means, but I guess generated and emailed = handed to the customer. The language is not 100% clear, but two people have already said that theirs worked.

R pins generated before 11/21 had to be RDR by the end of 11/21. The membership requirements for ABA changed on 11/22. So no, a lawyer who was not a member by 11/21 cannot use this for 90 days. The fugazi pins from this forum are very likely to result in chargebacks. I’m not sure why it’s so difficult to understand and why everything with you gets pushback.

No push back, just common sense, I believe. If someone joined and generated before Volvo/ABA changed the rules then they grandfathered.

And I’m saying anyone, who joined before 11/21, should be able to use the pin based on pre-11/21 rules after 11/22.
