This is my first post so please be kind. I am interested in leasing this Volvo that has proven to be hard to find. It has the polestar package on it. I don’t have the a plan. What are your thoughts. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
The agreed upon price is only dealer discount or includes incentives?
There is only 3k in incentives available? Check the incentives on volvocars.com -> inventory -> find the car and click payment estimator to see incentives.
If you want it - buy it. There is $6,750 cash on purchase + 10-11% off sticker. Your payments on 72 months may be close to the lease payments. I checked vroom on the same car and they offer 40k on it, not that much upside down from the start.
These go for $0 down/$610 a month on Honker in SoCal. So that’s the starting point.
They are hard to find because dealers don’t stock them, and the few that do tend to be in California which is more wagon friendly, but deals can be had. I’m actually looking at one of these too but haven’t started hitting dealers yet. One dealer had a blue one listed for 20% off - $43,995 - but that included purchase incentives that wouldn’t apply to a lease.
Also there is no Polestar package on these. At least not from the factory.
Thank you for the info I would love to get it at 610 or lower if it can be done. It does not show on my Honcker. My guess is because it’s regional ? Do you have a screen shot of that?
Also the polestar I think in this case is more an appearce package. See below.
As much as a would push for more if the deal is adequate in your mind take it before someone else does. Can’t let a crazy deal on a wagon slip away. Like you said few and far between. Unless you get a pin on a jag deal.
I see where the car is and the MSRP is $58,365. RV is 55% and MF buy rate is 0.00026 for southern and northeast regions with $3,750 incentives on leases. Oddly it’s 61% and 0.00106 in the western region. It looks like the quote has everything except the 1st payment capped out, including the tax.
Polestar is the software that gives it a little more power and noticeably more throttle response. It’s a port installed option that adds to the MSRP and factors into the residual.
Questions:
do you or anyone in your household qualify for A-Plan? Could be big for you.
Comments:
the T6 R-Design has a RV of 53%, same MF, same incentives. Consider one- if the deal is better the payment may not be much different. Better car.
do the MSDs if you have the dough
there’s room to grind the dealer on the price, MF and acq fee, but that is the only Busting Bomb T5 w/Polestar in the country. Personally, I think Polestar is a minus. There’s other Bursting Bomb T5s- one at DARCARs in MD and another at Lindsay in Alexandria, VA.
I think this is the deal structure. I just capped the tax, license, doc
Oops- you’re right. Oddly, there are lease programs for those regions. Maybe because the incentives vary on different models. I’ve never had cause to look anywhere other than the western region lease bulletins.
Thanks for help all. Yes the MSRP is 58k. I agree with A plan no one in my household has it. Unless social sercuity counts for my mother in law or attending preschool for my daughter. Anyway I can get creative?
So is there room you think for dealer to adjust price, MF, or/and fees?
I’m okay with 2018 New or Loaner V90, V90cc, XC60, or XC90. Trying to see which one will have the lowest monthly payment… Base on the Volvo calculator @JamesBond provided, seems like XC90 at 30 month is the best option at this point.
I said yes, but it’s up to the dealer how low he wants to go. What about the comments I made- do you want one with Polestar? Would you consider a T6? Would you do MSDs (multiple security deposits) to lower the rate? Do you feel like tackling a deal in MD or VA?
If you want to stick with the V90 you found, shoot for a selling price $600 lower and a MF of 0.00026. Your payment and cash DAS should drop to $630. You would be allowed to post 5 refundable security deposits, which would lower the payment to $609. If you reduce the amount financed by about $300 (put it in the DAS instead), the payment would drop to $600. 5 $600 deposits = $3,000 vs 5 $650 deposits with the higher amount financed = $3,250.
You need to post up the rest of the elements of your deal, and it would be helpful to see a link to the calculator showing the payment you got. Depending on the advertising on the car you’re looking at, it does look like you’re a few hundred dollars below A-Plan. Why a dealer would make an estimated $3,300 discount himself when Volvo would pay $3,000 instead is a complete mystery to me, unless that car isn’t new. Not only are they not getting the $3,000, they’re not getting an additional $1,100 or so commission. PM me the VIN if you can. Your payment expectations sound unrealistic and how you came up with 30 months on an XC90 lease as being the best doesn’t sound right, either.
