21"? Even more reasons not to have it in NY ![]()
Rodo told me they could buy out a Volvo lease. You might try them. There was a leg work involved on my end, but they bought my Genesis lease.
@Ursus they are only 19ās
After this happened on my prior volvo in 2019 I wanted this one to have 18" instead of 19" but they were not available.
Lesson learned: buying a low-profile car in NY I should have paid for the wheel & tire package. Normally I never do extra warranties but these things are silly.
I will update some more later but in the meantime Carmax in my city has a sheet on the front desk itself listing companies, including volvo financial, that they cannot buy leased cars from. For them they said Iād need to buy it out, wait weeks for my titleā¦
I do in fact have equity in this car. They are virtually impossible to get right now (S60 T8) and I can see used ones selling for about what I paid for a new oneāand remember those donāt even get tax credits.
Unlocking this equity could be a pain. Iām hesitant to buy it and wait a month although I do not believe the car market will change during this time.
Yeah. I even have some equity in my 2019 S60 T5 Inscr. Will just buy it out at the lease end and see. May keep it or sell it.
Updates since thread started. Of the three volvo dealerships I contacted two didnāt want to touch this with a ten foot pole. One of them has offered to buy it and work through the annoyances of the situation, along with a very modest check made out to me for the carās equity.
I also got, from volvo finance, the offer to walk away from this free and clear. There would be no equity with this approach but it would also be more direct and easier to deal with. So big ups to the idea above about contacting them about it.
Iām not particularly inclined to buy it out entirely so that I can then sell it to carmax, because it could take too long to get the title and is a decent bit of risk just for probably a few thousand dollars extra.
