Just signed a Volvo lease and working through the paperwork.
The dealer called and offered the 2 items. I said no to the wheels and tyres but curious about the other one and whether it’s a geniune issue.
I’ll be driving in NYC - any thoughts on this? Worth it or not?

While some of these do go through pads pretty quickly, especially in the rear, you can do a lot of brake jobs for $1600. I doubt you’ll come out ahead on that one. On my S90, that spent most of its 30k mile lease life in stop and go traffic in Los Angeles, I spent $3-400 on brake services.
Hard pass on both
If something happens with pads/rotors before normal time you may press the dealer or even Volvo to replace under warranty.

Your car will be under warranty the entire lease. Unless you have a history of burning through tires/brakes at an obscene rate, I would just roll the dice.
After 1 year/6000 miles, Volvo replaced my rear/squeeking brake pads a couple weeks ago under warranty, drives like new.
