Vinfast VF8 lease deal 0 down 250/mo 36/10

Okay, so…what’s insurance like on these things? And is the dealer on Long Island ever going to get a website? And I would have to be insane to lease this in Pennsylvania, right?

Oh, and you’d definitely have to be crazy not to get GAP, right?

Get gap… amfam by Costco charged me like $1 a year for gap anyways

Where’s that thread where Eric51 tried to get Gap insurance on a lease and everyone told him he couldn’t get Gap insurance on an asset that he didn’t own?

Being said, once @anon65069371 leases a few dozen Vinfast, we can see if there’s a Gap Waiver in their leases.

This thread has been quiet… did everyone who leased a VinFast have their wheels fall off?

They took that $100 per diem straight to Atlantic City.

I was weighing it but decided I’d be happier just buying a Bolt instead.

My wife only vaguely remembered the name and called it “Viet Go”, though, so that was funny.

Vinfast is opening up shop in Indonesia. I guess I will hear review soon from there.

Met a realtor today. He had a Vinfast VF8 that he got over an year ago. He said he is paying $399/month (I did not ask the DAS) for a 2 years lease. He said there were some software issues at the start but they have fixed most of it now. He told me he is considering getting another one for $250/month for a 3 year lease.

The car looked nice from the outside. Maybe I should test drive one of these to see what all the fuss is about.

I test drove one.
Great experience with salesguy
Drive went fine
Car is decent
I don’t think you can go wrong with this deal.
$250 for 3 yrs
Upfront would be around $2200 with taxes and registration

Only issue was full coverage insurance was almost $150 so I decided to skip.

Now that Nissan is doing those 18m Ariya leases in other parts of the country, and Kona is smaller but cheaper, and ID4 programs are decent as well, why be a guinea pig for something half baked?

Some people are a glutton for punishment. For example Fisker owners.

I agree with this. If it was $250 OTD with $0 DAS it would be a solid deal for the risk of it being a total POS/Lemon etc. However, for me it would be around $327/mo in that scenario (9.25% taxes, using the drive off from the post above you as an estimate) and at 3 years its just not worth the headache.

Hopefully he’s not your realtor. Wouldn’t trust a vinfast driver with Americans greatest investment lol

To be fair he doesn’t have to pressure you to make his Range Rover payment next month :joy:

I put a reservation in for one and I have done three test drives. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet but there are only a few days left before the deal ends, unless they extend again.

Wife’s daily driver is an ID4. The VF8 is not as smooth or quiet of a ride. Some road noise and I can hear the motor a bit at slower speeds. The sound system isn’t the best. But other than that it seems like a fine ride. Big and pretty responsive screen. The heads-up display is nice and bright. The outside styling is nice. And the interior is good with a pretty decent back seat space. Not the most comfy seats in the back though.

Ioniq 5 programs also improved yesterday so another nail in the coffin for VF.

Only the contrarian in me sees some appeal in driving a shape or a badge that nobody knows. Otherwise I just don’t see any reason to get these.

Curious how Ionic 5 programs improved yesterday? I have a bolt lease ending in April and am looking at getting into a low cost EV lease or maybe a good deal purchase. In so cal, any suggestions appreciated.

Check the Marketplace

Checked the marketplace but doesn’t seem very clear what improved yesterday. I see other people inquiring in marketplace about what changed too?

Yeah, at this point, the only reason to get the VF8 is if you don’t know about the other deals, or you want to get it as a spare car and make funny YouTube videos. I do like the diversity that it adds. I’ve seen a couple of VF8s driving around, and I like that it’s different.

I wonder what brought around the improved programs on the Ioniq 5. If this VF8 lease deal had anything to do with it. Competition is good.
