Correct. Idk why people think that salesmen will all of a sudden give you the magical payment number if you say “well someone on the internet got it”. Had one BMW sales guy tell me I’m Fucking crazy if I thought I was going to get a 330i for under $300 when he kept pressing me for the monthly I wanted with zero down. Since then never mention the monthly, just the sales price.
Gotta put yourselves in their shoes. They close deals everyday for monthly payments 100-200% higher than any of us would pay here, why waste time on someone who is either delusional on what they think they can pay ($500 Porsche for example), or are just wanting everything handed to them because someone posted a deal online.
Totally excited to be part of this forum. Just discovered it today. If I can land a sweet lease in TX, I will def share my experience and post all the details.
I pretty much only negotiate the discount though I will reference the monthly if they’ve already brought it up, e.g. “this monthly is higher than I’d like to pay, would you do %xx off of MSRP?”. Though I do follow up to make sure they aren’t marking up MF and we’re on the same page as far as residual goes.
