Understand "capitalized cost reduction"

Hi guys,
can I use CCR with rebate to reduce the lease payment but also put $0 down? let’s say the manufacture gives $7,500 EV rebate. Can the dealer calculate the $7500 into the CCR to reduce the payments and put $0 down?

CCR = down payment. If it’s paid by you or a rebate doesn’t really matter.

When the dealer asks me “how much down payment?” I can give any number and then the rebate will be deduct from it? if yes- then it make no sense to say “0 down”?

$0 down would be interpreted as no money out of your pocket towards down payment. The $7500 is going to be applied as a down payment and to cover some fees regardless of what you pay out of pocket.

If you want to do $0 due at signing, just tell them you want to do $0 due at signing and the $7500 will be used to cover any drive offs and first month’s payment and the balance applied to cap cost.

So best practice would be to calculate all the fees plus first month plus $7500 and tell the dealer- this is my down payment?

Just say $0 down payment.

I like to roll everything into the monthly, so I almost always do $0 DAS deals (except MSDs).

“I would like to do $0 due at signing”

That’s all you need to say.
