So, I wonder how much that driver made to warrant spending $600/week in fuel on the Camry…Not even including other costs like maintenance, depreciation, taxes, health insurance, etc.
Looks like she’ll be coming out about $8,000 ahead in a year’s time. Plus no maintenance on her Camry. Wow!

That math is kinda scary. $600/week at $5/gallon in a 2009 Camry rated at 21/31 (I used 25 MPG) is 3,000 miles/week. A scary 156,000 miles a year.

It is a rental through Hertz no? Includes rideshare insurance so I mean it doesnt look terrible.

r/Uberdrivers hates these Tesla rentals. Too expensive, too hard to explain to riders how to open the doors, too much time lost charging

I’m guessing the MPG was way worse especially in city traffic? Maybe sub 20?
I really doubt that sweet Heidi went through a tank of fuel per day while driving for Uber in her Camry… What is that, 6 days per week, 500 miles per day (in city traffic presumably)? Was Heidi working 16 hour days?

Uber Tesla’s hogging the superchargers in DFW as of late. 
Uber money is valid. Everybody I know makes 120k plus. You can write so much off too

Most people are bad at math and finances and irrational about gas prices. You get paid the same amount no matter what cart you are driving (unless you get an XL, Comfort or Black) so you almost always want the absolute cheapest car.
The price of gas, even at five bucks a gallon, is a much smaller factor than car payments. Averaging 33 MPG in a Versa and driving for Uber 2000 miles per month means you spend 300 bucks a month on gas. And figure maybe $300 a month in payments. Or you can pay almost 1500 a month for a Tesla plus charging costs. Even driving 4000 miles a month you come out way ahead in the Versa, although at 4K miles a month maybe spending a bit more for cheapest Corolla hybrid becomes a better call.
Normally Bloomberg is pretty good but there was some real WTF moments in this article which Business Inside made more freely available. You were spending 800 bucks a month on gas in a car that gets 40 mpg combined. Even assuming six dollar gas, you are driving over 5333 miles a month in LA? That’s 178 miles a day if you drive every single day with no days off. In LA traffic.
