Hi @Raven, @Benedetto - I am trying to figure out how to get the Uber discount. The dealer says that I need the Driver UUID number. It used to show up on the Uber dashboard but currently it does not (apparently because Uber made it invisible because of various hack vulnerabilities. Appreciate any ideas on how to get UUID number? I am already approved by Uber and logged into my account.
I have never heard of this number you speak of. I just had to show the salesman I was an active driver and he had to email a screen shot of my dashboard saying āactiveā, he then took that screen shot and submitted it to Hyundai. No numbers or anything of that sort involved.
Thanks @Raven. Looks like things have changed now. The dealer showed me the requirements page and it clearly stated that I need to provide it. The weird thing is that now I canāt even get to Vehicle Finance section via my partner account. I have emailed them and hopefully they will get back to me.
Canāt you just contact uber?

Hello fellow hackers, has anyone heard that the car manufacturer warranty could be voided if you claim the Uber discount? I looked at the KIA warranty and it says that the warranty is void for any vehicle put into commercial/rental/taxi/livery service. Has anyone heard anything on this?
Every brand has something like that written into the warranty
When I signed up for the Uber discount, I used my wifeās car to sign up. My Hyundai will never be associated with Uber other than having the discount applied so I donāt see how they could justify voiding the warranty.

@Raven, I have done that too. I will not add the KIA that I am leasing to Uber ever, but from what I read in some forums is that since you claimed the Uber discount for the car you leased, you intended to use it for Uber and thus forfeit the right for the warranty. Dealer is saying thatās not the case but theyāll say anything to make the sale. Maybe I am over analyzing it but better be safe than sorry.

The warranty thing is a grey area.
Technically they can void your warranty if they catch you driving for uberā¦ itās also possible aliens visit us tomorrowā¦ is it likely?
That verbiage looks like it applies to buying/leasing the vehicle through Uber. [Sounds like their sub-prime lending outfit - weekly payments deducted from earnings, if you donāt drive enough that week, payment rolled to next week, etc.]
I logged onto my Uber account and canāt follow the menus they refer to in that document to get to any of the vehicle financing/discount items. Not sure if its because I havenāt actually driven for them yet, they arenāt available in my area or they just arenāt available.
I am interested in finding out because some of the discounts listed are very attractive (and look unsustainable).
just email uber on their help page and they will send you your uuid number but I would not be to sure about giving that to anybody because of security reasons. You are giving them to keys to your banking etc etc
@anand331 Were you able to apply Uber discount on Kia lease? The Kia dealership that I spoke to saids that Uber Discount cannot be applied to lease.
@esangwon, yes I was. It was pain in the neck to get the UUID# from Uber. Get that, and give the dealer a screenshot of your profile page that shows your name, email, status(must show ACTIVE).
And also, dealer is going to give me something in writing that this is not going to void my KIA warranty(I havenāt seen that yet). He said that they had had discussion with KIA on this topic already. Once they accept your rebate and later KIA finds some issue, KIA will deduct it from the dealer with no recourse to you.

To all who need to know how to get UUID#, please contact Uber_Support on twitter. They will not send you UUID via twitter but will email you with a link that leads you to a support form that you can submit. They are quite good in responding once you submit your request.

Anyone have an updated list of Uber incentives? Specifically looking for 2018 Toyota Camry and 2018 Hyundai Sonata, is there still $750 for Camry and $1000 on Sonata?
