Turning in lease

Hello, I was curious when I turn in my KIA into the dealership (which I plan to lease another KIA), can and should I use a 3rd party inspector to look at my car? Or does it have to be the dealership? If it is the dealership, can they send someone over to my house to look at it?

Can they waive any amount of excessive damage?

Thanks

When I returned my Nissan, there was a mandatory inspection from a contracted company that Nissan paid for. They came and evaluated the vehicle in my driveway. Based on Kia’s turn in docs, it doesn’t seem like this is mandatory but it does let you get one if you are doubtful you did your self inspection right. This is what I found: https://pfile.hcamerica.com/content/dam/hca/kmf/img/lease-end/2017-kmf-lsend-desktp-lease_end_kit_aug17-pdf.pdf

At Kia, you can do self-assessment first using online estimator, then schedule an appointment to return the car with Kia dealer.

It looks like they are forgiving anything smaller than half inch. Let us know how this went, I have a Kia return in a few months as well. However, since you are leasing another Kia, they are very forgiving. You get your disposition fee waived, plus at least another $500 worth of damage. The rest you negotiate with your dealer.

Where does it say I get about 500$ waived for damages?

lady on the phone told me when I called Kia Finance.

Ah, what state are you located? I should probably call and ask too lol. I just hate talking on the phone -.-
