So, I may be in a bit of a sitch. So I gave my EV6 to my parents after we got rid of their Macan and I got a WRX early… and today they call me saying “we L2 charged it and now the car refuses to start”.
So, I just had a question about what happens if, say, this turns out to be ICCU failure, we take it to the dealer, they wait on parts, and oops maturity comes? Specifically:
Our lease maturity date is June 28 (roughly) and since today is May 1 we’ve got about 60 days until maturity. We are located in Michigan if that matters.
What happens if the parts wait exceeds 30 days (the normal lemon law threshold)? Does anything weird happen because we’re in the “return period”?
Are there known procedures for “I want to return my lease but it’s in the shop awaiting warranty work?” What should I do in this situation?
We will be calling Kia Roadside Assistance tomorrow and seeing if they can jump it for us (or tow it to the nearest dealer if not; we can jump it but have no interest to try atp). Thankfully it died in our garage after a long L2 charge (trunk lights are stuck on but car does not turn on) and no stranded roadside shenanigans. Will keep this thread updated.
Yeah it ended up being a false alarm. 12V battery died (while plugged in to our L2 charger), roadside assistance jumped it, it was fine after just like the 4 other times in the past 2 years we did it, but safe to say we will not be sad to see it go.
