Does it cost the dealership anything more than their time when you use MSD? I was trying to make a deal tonight at a dealership the finance guy said he really didn’t know anything about them. In the 4yrs hes been there he hasn’t really done any.
Takes little effort to do they’re just lazy
Depends on the dealer. My local dealer knew all about MSDs when I enquired about a Tacoma a few months back.
I just inquired about them too and the salesperson said they’d charge me a higher MF if I went that route! Doesn’t make sense.
In my experience, one out of seven dealers engaged via email and were willing to do MSD (i.e. knew about it)

I just leased a 2017 Highlander at the end of February. Neither the salesman or the general manager mentioned anything about using MSD’s until I brought it up. Even then, the salesman and the manager then figured a lease payment as if the MSD’s I was putting down was cap cost money!
I finally showed them the Lease Hacker calculator I was using to help with the deal, and explained what the MSD’s were and how they benefited me but cost them nothing.
When I went in to sign the final paperwork, the finance manager knew all about the MSD’s but said I was only the second or third one to use them at this store. He has been there over 5 years, and the dealership has been there at least 15 years. He knew about them because he came from a Lexus store and said they were very common there.
Well worth the little bit of hassle I went through because of how much it lowered my payments by reducing the MF!

MSD lower MF, lower MF - lower profit for the dealer from padded MF. And they all want to pad it.

Finally closed a deal on my Highlander SE and they gave me the 72 discount on the 9 MSDs and played zero games. Invoice-HB, Best experience i’ve ever had with a dealership. Toyota in Olympia WA. Ask for Tom S.

I have a Sienna Lease can I retroactive apply MSD? Or is the deal done?
No since you already signed. Just do MSD next lease.
I just went to a dealer in Massachusetts and they claimed that you cannot apply MSD to the Tacoma lease I am looking at Tacoma pro I think they are full of shit but just wanted to get verification from you guys
Many Tacoma leases are not done via captive financing, so it could be correct that you Tacoma deal does not alow MSDs for that reason.
I just tried to lease a Toyota and the guy said the same thing!
