Yeah, they have been insisting that I come in right away…or else it will be gone. I asked to put a deposit…denied. I told them I can’t come till Wednesday (now tomorrow) afternoon…the response was … “darn, it’ll be gone”. I won’t lie, that made me laugh a little. I’m not new to leasing, but this market and a well sought after vehicle…makes for some interesting stories.
PenFed has pulled their “Payment saver” balloon loan program, as least for the time being.
Dont expect the MY24 to be early as well.
The program itself is running behind due to a lot of late changes for the better (the interior specially) but out of the gate i4 hybrid and possible entry of a detuned V35 from the tundra on a top spec model (TRD or maybe something different all together). Made in Japan for the initial run and then it permanently joins its stablemate at the MX factory for good.
Plus 1,500 blessings.

To echo the other people on this thread, 100% buy. You will pretty much always have equity in this and $1,500 over is a great deal. With a lease the buyout is all your payments + your residual. You’re payments include that .00163 MF which is 3.9% built in. When you finance and you go to sell it you don’t pay the finance charges for the entire loan like you would if you try to sell your lease early.
isn’t the future rental charge will not be included if you buy out ?
Buyout on a TFS lease is all payments plus your RV. The MF is built into your payments.
It’s all payments + RV - unearned rent.m
I sold a TFS lease in December after 3 months.
I understand. I’ve bought and sold close to 10 TFS leases. Your payment includes the MF which is interest. If you sell a 36 months lease after only 12 months then you’re effectively paying interest on 24 months of payments + the RV. When you sell a car in 12 months on a 60 month purchase loan you avoid future interest charges.
Same as Ally as well? But I will just stop right here.
basically If I want to sell my Toyota car to third party , its sell price better be higher than my remaining payments + the RV. otherwise I gonna end up negative equities.
Check out section 29F for calculating “adjusted lease balance”. This Carries into section 30 “lease termination by you!”
“Either the amount due under section 29 or the total of the following, whichever is less”
wow! 10 char!
I got a mgm 22 pro for 1200 over msrp. They said they could get it to me in 3 weeks. 1 month later and they still couldn’t get it and at that point I needed to get a vehicle so I pulled the trigger on another suv.
Moral of the sTory is that unless they have the car in stock You might be waiting a long time before you get the car the vehicle. That means that your trade in vehicle, if you have one will depreciate a lot more. Especially if the used car market is getting softer. I had a 2018 gls that I was trading in that the dealer said they would give me 50k for but then pulled that from under me as they didn’t know how long it would take the trd pro to arrive. That was the other big factor in me buying something else.
Today is the day! Thank you all for the information and support. I have my own financing. Let’s see what happens.
Keep in mind if they push back and say the price jumps by $3,000 if you do not do in house financing…just use their financing and then refinance the loan 60 days later. Do not mention this to the dealer. Obv read the fine print and make sure their isn’t any clauses in loan that prevent this.
Interesting turn of events…
I am going with a different brand/vehicle…something I have wanted longer than this TRD Pro. I was made an offer that I couldn’t refuse. I am grateful for all of the support and information from the forum members. The car is very much available and the $1,500 dealer adjustment was only if you didn’t have a trade. The dealer was okay with personal/private financing as well.
If anyone is in the Lehigh Valley area or a drive away and wants the car…it is BEAUTIFUL. DM me for the sales person/dealer information.
Thank you all!
So what is the new vehicle? This cliff hanger episode is going to drive everyone insane!
Haha! Wouldn’t think anyone was interested in that. An M3 Competition xDrive. A completely different vehicle … but my fam finally agreed to let me get a sedan again. Will post once I get it.
