Title in company name?

I forgot my usual “this comes up a lot, search the forum”. There is a ton already shared, including:

Others have shared that business car insurance was no more, or cheaper, for them. My experience was like yours: insurance cost more and wasn’t quite the same coverage I have as an individual.

For individuals, IMO, writing off your car is probably the single best example of “spend $1 to save $0.30”. After you have removed what you are reasonably allowed to do, many of the advantages involve spending more to save more. It’s easy to get mesmerized by “I can get 30% off a Range Rover”, but that isn’t quite it: you have to make that money before you spend it, and it always has opportunity cost. It’s a great thing for businesses that need vehicles to scale (eg construction, plumbers/electricians, etc). For small businesses which don’t fit that, the math doesn’t always pencil out. Which is why so many Sec 179 eligible vehicles are sold in December, businesses either need to ensure they’ve made enough to benefit from it, or found themselves with too much income they want to knock down (I’d argue there are usually better ways before Christmas to do that, but I’m not a cpa).

Thank you sir.

Yeah no Range Rover here. Small family farm - using a truck for farm things

Which is what Section 179 was actually intended for! Keep doing what you do, we need our farmers.

My AP euro teacher / college prof was a farmer, much respect to all y’all do. Hats off to ya man
