This seems like a terrible deal. Where do I go from here?

$802/month for a 36 month 12k/year lease seems ridiculously high. Am I right or wrong? 59% residual and selling price of $56,700. That’s supposed to be an “aggressive” discount. Thoughts?

What is the MF they are charging? Then you can reverse calculate.

I think the interest rate on the pic is 3.5% so 0.0014583 ??

Yes, that’s the money factor they gave me. I’ve read that .00133 was the “standard” Mercedes money factor.

I thought that was for finance but perhaps both.

They told me it applied to the lease. So am I wrong in thinking that payment is way out of whack for a $60,000 car?

It is certain pretty strange as MB’s lease fairly well. Let us break down what you have into the 3 parts of the lease

(1) Rent cost

$60,375 x 0.59 = $35,621 residual
$56,700 - $35,621 = $21,079 / 36 = $585/mo

Not sure if your $802/mo includes tax but assuming it does, that means interest and tax is $217/mo which is pretty close to impossible

Alternatively, @willwar14 has a $545/mo payment on the $78k MSRP 550i which I am assuming will be way better than any C-class AMG

Thanks for breaking that down for me. Indiana is 7% tax, so yes you are right about that being an impossible tax figure. I’ll email them and try to find out what the discrepancy is.

You go to another dealer? Because that deal is terrible.

Here is the breakdown I got from the dealer.
Monthly payment of $802.97:

· Indiana Sales Tax of 7% = $52.53 per month
· Depreciation ($22,473.50) + Interest amount ($4,542.21) = $27,015.71 / 36 = $750.45 per month
o Acquisition fee of $995 / 36 = $27.63 per month
o Interest charge of $4,542.21 / 36 = $125.18 per month
o Pre-Paid maintenance = $14.09 / month
§ THE ABOVE NUMBERS ARE APART OF THE $750.45

Seem the calculation is right. Not a good deal though. Bigger discount, MSDs to lower the mf to make it a good deal

Thanks. Do you have a number that would be reasonable to shoot for? Is the “less than 1 percent MSRP per month” rule of thumb something I should be trying to get?

The car just introduced to the market so not much info to help you with your decision of a good deal or not. Dont think there will be any incentives for such a new redesign either.
If you like the car and the payment is right for you buy it, if not you might need to wait a bit for the price to drop. The residual is not good on AMG cars. 59%?for a new redesign low imo.

Thank you. I like the car, but I will see if I can either find the 2016 version (450 AMG) or stick with a BMW (340i) or the new Infiniti Q50 400 Red Sport which seems to be leasing well.

Saw the number and i think they mark up the acquisition fee by 200. Dont know if they are willing to budget that.
Dont know about the car invoice, but i think they selling the car at invoice price. If you can, try to negotiate 1k-2k under invoice (not sure if they willing to sell though). Ask for mf number and try to put money security deposit to lower it. See if your company is qualified for fleet discount. If you owned mb see if there is loyalty incentive; in another word search to see there are any incentives that you are qualified for then apply that on top of their lowest selling price. Pay acquisition fee up front to avoid interest charge. Good luck man, hope this help a bit.

Ah i see, so you are not really death bold on the c43. Definitely the bmw 340 or q50 red lease better than the c43. Search the forum for previous deals and try to replicate it. Mid to high four hundred is attainable on those car.
Residual on infiniti is terrible but they do discount alot and their mf is supper low.
