I swear half of this is subjective and people just equate lack of buttons to ‘cheap’
I like the model 3 interior look and feel, it doesn’t feel ‘luxurious’ in any way but at the same time doesn’t feel ‘cheap’ certainly not in comparison with a Corolla etc
It’s VW level in my eyes and I’ve been in an ID4 straight after getting out of a model 3
Oh please, it’s not the lack of button, it’s the rubber, it’s the trimming, it’s the speaker cover, it’s the seatbelt, the seats. All looks cheap because it’s cheap.
You’ll never convince a Tesla Stan about any issues. They need to accept their alternate reality to rationalize their purchases and enthusiasm. They don’t hear the rattles. They don’t mind stiff seats. They don’t mind the cheap plastics that age worse than a 90’s caravan.
Like here’s a CT someone posted online. The owner refuses to acknowledge the rear door is a different color than the rest of the truck. He doesn’t see the problem - therefore there is no problem.
I guess anything not blindly positive towards Tesla gets moved here… it’s pretty valid information that fast charging during road trips are not going to be cheaper than gas unless you have free charging…
Anybody with EV experience has free charging at this point.
Loyal Tesla owners can have free charging via the rewards program.
Every other brand gives out free EA or EVGO sessions.
On top of this, many even have solar panels to cover costs of charging at destinations.
I was the biggest Tesla Stan for a while. 3 Powerwalls, solar. two teslas, and two of their chargers. I advocated their trash because I was an idiot.
But Tesla woke me up to how shit their products and service really are. I can’t believe I put up with their garbage for so long. Great charging infrastructure, but their cars and service suck.
Anyway yeah that guy blamed his iPhone for his Tesla door being the wrong color haha.
I have my Tesla before. Most people would not have free charging. Yes you get some points with referral program but you could’ve used the points on something else instead of charging, so it still costs something. It’s not like referral credits comes for free either without someone paying for something.
I feel you. I was huge on Tesla and was so excited to finally get my M3P back in March 2022. Then the true side of Tesla reared its head with horrible build quality that the service center refused to fix. I wouldn’t wish the service center experience on anyone.
If I ever need a cheap appliance of an EV then I would maybe consider Tesla, but otherwise no thanks.
I rented an almost new 23 Camry SE with Nightshade it was complete sh*t. Not my choice. My cheap as brother picked it for me as I was arriving after the rental agency closed. Anemic power, cheap Toyota interior, ear bleeding audio, janky transmission, physical key (no start button).
I wanted a Polestar 2 like last time but Enterprise dumped all their P2s. I would have taken the RAV4 I had rented before and I hate RAV4s lol.
Also those numbers might as well be all made up. How is a Kia Soul EV louder at idle than the gas Kia Soul variants and even Sorrentos?
43 dB at idle is also too low for all of the cars. Not sure where they are measuring. Typical gas cars I’ve measured are in the 50s or higher. Low 60 dB in the cabin at 70mph is BMW i4 quiet and many of the cars listed are loud shitboxes and have low 60s at that speed. I call BS on that junk data.
"Tesla shares plummeted more than 10 percent Thursday, wiping billions off the company’s valuation after CEO Elon Musk failed to allay concerns about stagnating growth and persistent price cuts on the company’s earnings call.
The electric-vehicle maker ushered in steep price cuts to maintain demand throughout 2023, resulting in 38 percent growth in vehicle deliveries that hardly translated into additional revenue, prompting worry from investors and analysts.
On Wednesday, Tesla reported quarterly results that missed analysts’ expectations, including annual revenue that grew by merely 3 percent despite significantly higher sales volume, and a forecast for a potential “notably lower growth rate” than in 2023 as it invests in a next-generation vehicle it says it will begin building in 2025."
IMHO, the only thing propping up Tesla sales right now is the brand recognition and its supercharger network. Musk may not have any other choice when he make the decision to start opening up its supercharger to other brand, however I believe that decision will reduce people’s demand on his cars when they can get better build ev from other manufacturer with access to tesla supercharger network. But hey, maybe he can make profit from the supercharger more than selling cars instead.
Significant step up on reducing everything? I’m already annoyed having to adjust the wiper on the screen for current tesla y. Highland put the wiper as button n put the gear selector on the screen. Lol. Not going to touch that nightmare.
