Not sure if you have used a Tesla… but there is no delay.
One other plus… won’t let me leave the house without my phone.
Not sure what you are talking about.
The whole advantage of Tesla is how easy it is to use and incredibly user friendly. Just hop on, drive around, and enjoy the torque.
The only downside I agree with is the ride quality is not good but not important to most Tesla drivers.
Yes have had a model Y since 21’, the phone worked 90% of the time, but there were times were you had to take phone out of pocket, unlock it, navigate to app and hit open, and it would happen at the worst times, so switched to key fob and 99% always let me open door immediately, worst case I had to push a quick button on key fob from muscle memory but so much faster then phone when it wouldn’t connect.
It was only 100 bucks or so, so i wasn’t worried i got Y for 39999 when they releaed the standard range for a few months before cutting it.
was only talking about my experience using phone to unlock car when approcaching it, switched to key fob and great experience. Maybe its an android to tesla issue? but with key fob it was great, minor conplaint.
I have an android too. I haven’t even taken out the key fob from its envelope/packaging. I would be pissed if the keyless entry doesn’t work because that makes the experience pretty nice. Not having to carry the key around and not worrying about locking the car removes a lot of hassle. Maybe you need to allow the App to work in the background?
Ahh… Android. That might be the difference.
Wife had issues with her iPhone too when she started driving the Y but set that Location to always on and that fixed it.
We got the same cheap RWD SR Y in 2021 too… really hated the ride on that thing. Friends tell me the newer Y with “comfort suspension” is better but have not tried it.
The PAAK really spoiled us, especially with walk-away lock. Luckily, most cars (even ICE) have walk-away lock now with the fobs… except for the Ioniqs (grrr).
Homie thinks he getting a cybertruck this year

Cybertruck ready for all the “safe” cities in the world.
Tesla Cybertruck underwent 'Al Capone style' bulletproof testing, Elon Musk reveals
LOL… now show the repair bill and timeframe. Also, please shoot it with something modern using modern ammo, while Musk who’s so sure of it is sitting in the front seat. And if you want to do a real test, do all of that with a random truck pulled from the production line (when it exists).
.45 is a good representation of commonly available ammunition and at a muzzle velocity between 900-950 ft/s depending on the loading it’s actually a little bit overkill but valid data point.
Would it be good against or 7.62x39 or 51(.308)? Perhaps not but how often do you hear of your average street criminal carrying something like that to use in petty crime?
Question… what is the mostly likely cause of someone shooting into a motor vehicle?
A- Police feeling their safety threatened
or
B- Criminals wanting to rob someone
or
C- Road rage incidents
or
D- Something else?
I’m pretty sure all the first 3 categories are usually only 9mm or .45 ACP. Maybe sometimes a .40.
You forgot making cool YouTube videos.
Yeah we should pass legislation to ban 30-06 or 7.62mm rounds being sold to influencers. Something about mental health and public well-being.
Shall.
Not.
Be.
Infringed.
Dystopia.
Mad Max scenario except they will want your batteries instead of gas.
Here is an interesting thing brought up somewhere else, how is Elon not posting a video of that test happening? The guy who would stage videos of pretty much every pathetic thing he can think of decided not to post a video of it on Twitter? Does anyone else find it a bit suspicious?
Awesome topic! Stopping a 9mm is quite significant. It is an extremely popular caliber despite its age. Remember, we are talking about hard barrier penetration here, where things like expansion are a negative attribute. If I need to stop rifle rounds, I would probably be looking for a purpose-built armored car.
Armored vehicles are super expensive. I got into a slight incident with some prick driving one after he almost caused me to crash. I looked them up because I was curious. They go for like $200k plus. Not sure why the dumb %$#! stepped out of the armored vehicle to get out and yell at me, but that was a tactical error on his part. I didn’t escalate it further. Anyway, here is a pic just before he got out. You will notice the unmistakable bird being flipped in the top left as a strong sign of discontent.
I flipped a bird today too…down right dynamite yummo (look ma, I can see my reflection!);
But on topic:
