They’re based out of Vernon Hills, Illinois. My parents who live in the Chicago area had a loan through them. Requires additional services to get the advertised rate. But they’re straightforward and fairly easy to deal with. In 2025 the only requirement to join was a donation to some organization, so it was very easy. ---

You are right, they are based in Illinois. I had a few customers that work with a local broker in LA that have took loans through BCU and the rates didn’t disappoint. I had someone take a loan of 120k with only 5k due at signing for 72 months for a rate of 3.99, and if the rate was going to drop in the next 2 or 3 months, they’ll give him the lower rate. ---

Joined BCU for their low rates, was really easy to do. Was debating until the last minute between a 2026 RS3 and a 2022 CT4-V BW. Went with the 2022 model year car and their best rates are for 2023+ smh. Noting that to get the lowest rate you needed to meet 2/3 criteria: 1. 25k deposited 2. Active user of their credit card 3. $1k a month direct deposit Now applying at Cal Coast as they have similar rates for used cars and no requirements for their lowest rates. ---

Ended up financing with [Cal Coast](https://www.calcoastcu.org/) for 4.99/75months for a 2022 car. Applied yesterday, they responded quickly and mailed out check to carmax today so we could beat the 3 day options period. They were super responsive and great to work with. EDIT: Ended up returning the car after an inspection revealed a few nasty issues. Let’s see how this un-financing works and how smooth the process is. Seems like carmax would just contact them and go form there. ---

I’m still waiting for them to pay off the loan… Following up with the business office when they open today. You have 3 days to refi/find new financing. I’d suggest getting your car inspected same day/next day and if you need to return do it before getting your personal finance company involved. Just get an options contract and make sure your company can send the check for arrival by the 3rd day and you wont be charged any interest from your carmax loan. The return was super easy, check in hand right away. Them paying off my credit union has been a bit of a chase and making my next car purchase a little extra work. ---

I don’t know what the rate is but Chase is really pushing their customers to Maserati with high pre-approved limits. I never inquired or asked for them to do so. In case anyone is in the market for a Maserati. ---
