Have a lease coming up at the end of the year. Timed it to end in December thinking i’d get a smoking deal, and now we’re in the worst car market in recent history.
For those who have done multiple leases in Texas, what are the odds of receiving tax credits from a dealership? Is it on certain models, makes, etc? Is December a better time to expect them?
Depends on the brand, the dealership, the vehicle type, and the specific vehicle.
For example, you’re very very likely not getting any tax credits on a BMW SUV, but you will get them on a sedan (assuming they have tax credits available this December as they did last December)
I currently don’t have tax credits. @harpongary what do you mean once they stop I can’t claim them again? I’m specifically asking about credits that are given in states where the entire price of a vehicle is taxed, the manufacturer often provides credits on leases to help offset the burden. I think you may be talking about something else.
Anyone else know of any brands that traditionally do lease tax credits for end-of-year? If i’m not getting a great discount, then maybe the 6% off in taxes might help offset the blow.
You’re confused here. The “tax credits” the OP is referring to are tax credits offered by the manufacturer to off set the sales tax. With Lexus in Texas it reduces from 6.25% to 1.5%.
