Hello. Just completed a lease transfer in Texas. I am original lessee.
Anyone have previous first hand experience with lease transfer in Texas?
Do the plates stay with the vehicle after the lease transfer?
Do I need to cancel the registration after the lease transfer?
Seems like there is no option to cancel the registration in Texas. Instead have to fill out Vehicle Transfer Notification online.
The only question I have now is - Do the plates stay with the vehicle or should I keep the plates?
In my experience the tags stay with the car as the Lessor remains the owner of the vehicle.
